Dear Neighbors,
We are pleased to report that preliminary work will soon begin on Concordia College’s new turf field at the corner of Rose Avenue and White Plains Road! In the next few days, you will see workers busy preparing the site for the “big dig” in the spring. The scope of this work will include removing the old bleachers, installing a silt fence (a fence used on construction sites to protect nearby water sources from sediment runoff) and surveying. The contractor responsible for this work is Lucadamo & Sons, a highly-reputable firm which has handled our major capital projects for the past 40 years.
The turf field project remains on schedule and will be ready for the fall 2019 soccer season. Concordia will hold an official celebratory groundbreaking this spring and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new field in the fall before the first game is played.
Concordia is in the process of scheduling “community forums” with its neighbors to review the construction schedule and answer any questions. In addition, we will post regular project updates on our website at https://www.concordia-ny.edu/community/project-updates.
In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding this preliminary work or other items connected to the turf field project, please don’t hesitate to call me at 337-9300, ext. 2195 or my cell at (914) 584-5845. Our goal is to keep you, our neighbors, updated on this project as we move closer to realizing our dream of a state-of-the-art turf field to benefit our campus and our community.
Best regards,
